SSDs are quieter, more efficient, and have fewer things that can break than hard drives with spinning platters. SSDs have much faster read and write speeds than hard drives.
You will spend less time waiting. If you see a spinning cursor on your screen often, an SSD might be worth considering. Virtual memory management is increasingly used by modern operating systems, which sends temporary swap files out to disk. This overhead has a lesser impact on performance the faster your drive is.

Cloning software creates a copy of the data on your hard drive. After the data has been transferred, you can install the SSD on your computer. When possible, I prefer to copy a hard disk onto an SSD. A cloned SSD can be bootable if done correctly, making it a simple plug-and-play experience. Copying files from one drive to the other may not be enough to make the computer boot.
How to Clone a Hard Drive into an SSD
It is unlikely that a new SSD or hard drive will come pre-installed with the operating systems your computer requires. Cloning an existing hard drive can fix this. This may not always be possible. You might have installed an SSD on a computer with a bad hard disk. You can perform a “clean install” and start over. Each OS manufacturer has its instructions. SSDs are more expensive per gigabyte compared to hard drives. If you can’t afford an SSD that is as big as your existing drive, make sure all your data fits on the new drive.
