1. What is paper tube packaging?
The paper packaging tube is made of 100% recycled kraft paper or white cardboard. The machine glues 3 or 5 layers of paper together and rolls them through metal dies, in custom lengths and diameters. Workers then cut them to the right size for your product. Here we show you in video how to make a custom cardboard cylinder paper tube.

2. Benefits and advantages
- It can be easily reused and recycled.
- They are flexible and strong. These cardboard cylinder tubes are made of durable cardboard made of strong kraft paper, with 2 mm thick indestructible walls, which resist crushing and will not deform to ensure that your products are safely packed inside and can be used as transport or Mailing tube boxes, they are able to protect the contents inside during transit.

3. Types and varieties
The cylindrical structure style is the main issue that must be considered when paper tubes are bundled. There are four main structures in the barrel structure, from three-piece and two-piece to barrel-bundled. From the outer base, the inner neck to the top cap, its length can be changed as required.
Each can be wrapped in a variety of textured printing papers to create beautiful planning cardboard tube bundle boxes.
1) Paper tube packaging three-piece structure
This paper tube has three parts: cover, bottom and inner tube. The bottom part has 2 layers. The collar you see is made from a thinner paper tube that is longer than the tube and glued to it. This one has a shorter lid, and you can also order one with a shorter bottom than the lid.
2) Packed in 2 structural paper tubes
The two-piece construction has only two parts, including the lid and the bottom. Generally, the bottom part is slightly longer than the top cover to facilitate removal. Unlike the three-piece cardboard tube structure style, it saves material. Then the weight will be lighter than the two-piece structure.
3) Different edges of paper tube packaging
There are two different treatments for the open edge of the carton tube. One has a round rolled edge and the other edge is a smooth cut opening.
The difference is that the crimp can hide the color of the tube in addition to appearance. As shown in the picture, the color of the tube is covered by the outer paper. For cut openings, there is no paper covering the outside of the inner tube.
4) Different material caps for customized cardboard cylinder tube packaging
For custom paper tubes, there are 4 different types of lids to choose from. Paper cover, metal cover, PVC cover, plastic cover.
- Paper Cover: You can custom print or highlight your logo on it.
- Metal Lid: Can hold heavier items inside.
- PVC cover: Transparent, the inside can be seen through the cover.
- Plastic cover: lower cost and easy to assemble.
5) Different inner paper tube packaging
- Kraft inner tube: made of rubberized kraft paper, as shown in Figure 1.
- White cardboard liner: made of c1s cardboard, more expensive than kraft paper
- Inner layer of printed paper: printed 157gsm or 200gsm paper packaging
- Gold or Silver Paper Tubes: This option gives a more luxurious finish to the tube neck.
Which material to use depends on how luxurious the product inside is. For example, the packaging of perfume is worth spending more money on.
6) Different inlays to fix the product
You can choose plastic or foam additives to put inside the cardboard cylinder to best accommodate your items, such as essential oil bottles, so that they won’t move around in the cylinder if you have some extra room inside.
The foam color can be white EVA foam, dark foam and dark foam, which are the most widely used. Sometimes a cardboard inlay is additionally applied.
4. Customization and branding
The most useful solution is printing and surface treatment, in addition to using different materials. Different printing and different surface treatments also require professional advice. Sometimes, certain finishes are not suitable for the material you want. Please check and get in touch.
1) Paper tube custom printing
offset printing. Printed on a Herderberg press. CMYK or PMS colors.
Screen Printing: For small runs and special areas not suitable for offset printing.
Digital Printing: Usually used for sample/proof printing.
2) Customized surface treatment
Varnish: gloss varnish or matt varnish
Foil: gold or silver foil
Partial UV: Glossy Partial UV
5. Purpose and application
The round shape of the chamber tubes is their point of interest, making it easier to fit round jugs, jars, container compartments than other rectangular paper container boxes.
For example, T-shirt clothing pressing, essential oil bottles, pods, pen pressing, aromatherapy bottles, red wine jugs, candles, etc.
1) Candle gift box
Cardboard cylinder tubes are a good choice for pressing high quality candles, you can place candles directly into cylinder bundles, the same way you can place flame containers inside. These vellum or specially printed cylinders help you advance the candles.
2) Perfume bottle paper tube packaging
Carrying your fragrance in a custom round box is safe and luxurious. Inside the tube we leave foam around to protect the bottle. You can have custom printing on it to highlight your logo.
3) Underwear cloth paper tube packaging
These cardboard cylinder bundles are suitable for pressing retail garments such as t-shirts, these garments are rolled into round rods, no doubt they can be packed into custom sized cylinders to display on store shelves, with pictures printed on the outside of the cylinders.
4) Glove tube packaging
Premium gloves can be packed into cardboard tubes as follows, which is the best way to prevent damage to gloves when not in use. Also, it is not recommended for cheap gloves due to cost.
5) LED lamp packaging
It is best to choose custom cardboard lamp tubes for LED lamps, because the lamp tubes are easy to break. The rounded shape prevents tubes from colliding with each other during delivery.
6) Board game box
Round printed paper tubes can be used as packaging boxes for board games . A circular shape can make a board game more attractive than a regular shaped box.
7) Hair Straightener
Place the EVA loops on the top and bottom of the straightener, then secure it inside the custom cardboard tube. So shipping and delivery by express is safe. It also has the same function for the packaging of other electronic products.
8) Oil drop bottle tube packaging
We can make the diameter 2cm or 1cm to accommodate small oil or lipstick. We will also place EVA or foam inlays to hold the bottle in place.
9) Customized paper tubes for wine glass bottle packaging
