Easier said than done when you don’t know what to do. Luckily, this guide will show you everything you need to know! We hope you enjoy recreating this legendary hero in this step-by-step Goku drawing guide.

How to Draw Goku

Step 1

One of Goku’s most distinctive features is his spiky black hair, which we’ll start with in this first step of our Goku character guide.

We use slightly curved lines for the tips that end in pointed shapes to do this. It can be tricky to get them right. So be sure to follow the reference image!

Then you can use some rounded lines for the ears and chin area of the face under the hair. Then you are ready for step 2 of the instructions!

Step 2

In the second step of this drawing of Goku, we will draw the details of the face and chest for him. First, use straight and curved lines for the eyes and brows and smaller ones for the nose and mouth.

Next, we’ll draw his chest, which might be tricky too! Goku’s design is very detailed, with many lines in his muscle definition and even more in his clothing.

As you draw, follow the reference image closely, as it will help you determine the detail and proportion for that part of the drawing.

Step 3

Continuing with this step of our guide on how to draw Goku, we will add more of his clothes. First, you can use some straighter lines for the sleeves of her dress.

Next, we’ll use some horizontal lines for his belt. Let’s draw his first leg on the left when these are drawn.

Just like the bodice, there are a lot of folds in the fabric, so there are a lot of intricate line details. Again, if you follow the instructions carefully, you’ll be done quickly!

Step 4

So far, you have made one leg for your Goku drawing, and we will add the other leg to this one.

To do this, reproduce the other leg that you have already drawn. When the leg is ready, we can add its boots.

It is drawn with round and straight lines and then wrapped with ribbons. Once those legs and shoes are done, we must add more details before coloring Goku.

Step 5

In this fifth step of our guide on how to draw Goku, we will finish drawing his arms. They’ll stoop and clench their fists to make him look ready for action.

His arms are heavily muscled, making him difficult to grab. Again, it’s a good idea to replicate the lines in the reference drawing as closely as possible.

Once you’ve drawn the arms, you’re drawn!

Step 6

You’ve reached the final step of your Goku drawing, and now you can enjoy finishing off with some paint!

Goku’s clothing is mostly bright orange, otherwise a little dark blue.

Then he has dark black for his hair, but if you want to show him in his Super Saiyan form, you could use some bright yellow!

You can then decide what art media to use for your desired colors. Some colored pens and markers might work great for lighter colors that resemble the colors from the show.

You can also use watercolor or colored pencils for more muted colors if you prefer the look of the drawing.
