4 gates refrigerator with freezer

When buying a fridge, the first thing you need do is measure the area where the fridge will go. Simple: if you don’t know how big the area is that the fridge needs to fit in, there is no point in looking for one. Essentially, before you start looking for a new home to live, ask for measurements or access to take them.

Determine your budget for the tabletop fridge, and then make every effort to stay within it.

You should look at all the various refrigerator styles and choose the one that best suits your needs because there are many different types of refrigerators. Different refrigerator designs meet various demands;

Upright Fridge

The most typical refrigerator you will encounter has a freezer on top and a fridge underneath. A top mount refrigerator is available in a wide range of sizes, ranging from 180Ltrs (about height 1400mm, width 500mm, depth 580mm) to 580Ltrs (approximately height 1800mm, width 850mm, depth 700mm). These refrigerators are typically suitable for 1-4 persons.

Low-mount refrigerator

In the last five years or so, bottom mount refrigerators have emerged as a design that is gaining popularity. Bottom-mount refrigerators are essentially top-mount refrigerators turned inside-out. The ratio of the fridge to the freezer will often be lower with a bottom mount than a top mount, meaning that there will be more freezer and less fridge. Bottom mount refrigerators are available in a variety of sizes, ranging from 370Ltrs (about height 1600mm, width 630mm, depth 600mm) up to 580Ltrs (approximately height 1800mm, width 850mm, depth 700mm). These refrigerators are typically suitable for 1-4 persons.

Side by Side Refrigerator

Because they often have a bigger internal space that helps them accommodate families, side by side refrigerators are typically more common in family homes. Depending on the type, side by side refrigerators can be equipped with a variety of features, including ice and water dispensers, home bars (with drink access from the front of the refrigerator door), and even televisions. A side-by-side refrigerator’s narrower refrigerator and freezer area makes it less suitable for storing large platters and other items.

French Door Refrigerator

These are about the size of side-by-side refrigerators. The distinction is that these refrigerators are divided horizontally rather than vertically, providing them the same amount of space as identical side-by-side refrigerators but with wider refrigerator and freezer sections.

A pigeon pair is a matching but independent refrigerator and freezer that is made to stand next to one another. The fact that you receive a full-sized refrigerator and freezer is a plus. The biggest problem with these is that they typically have a combined width of more than a meter and are simply not useful in most families. Pigeon pairs are often produced by select brands like Fisher and Paykel and Westinghouse.

After reading this post, I hope you are better prepared to buy a new refrigerator and won’t make the common blunders that several buyers do.
